Persiapan S-OFF
Cek versi HBOOT, yaitu dengan cara. Dari keadaan mati, tekan volume down, maka akan muncul gambar seperti dibawah ini:
Jika HBoot versi 1.17, lakukan cara S-OFF dengan Revolutionary. Yang dipersiapkan adalah:
- ADB Tools (
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=672540&stc=1&d=1312138079 ): Untuk mendownload harus memiliki account di xda-developers
- Dari HTC Sensation/Sensation XE, ke menu Settings-Development-USB Debugging dicentang
- Install HTC drivernya jika berjalan di atas platform windows (
http://downloads.unrevoked.com/HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe), jika menggunakan linux, (disarankan minimal ubuntu 9, karena sudah pernah dites) tidak memerlukan driver lagi
Cek serial number Sensation/XE dengan cara
1.Buka casing belakang di dekat tempat batere
2.Menggunakan perintah ADB (lebih enak karena dapat mudah dicopypaste)
Buka situs
http://revolutionary.io kemudian klik diantara link untuk windows atau linux, setelah itu masukkan serial number dari devicenya, baik didapat melalui lihat bagian belakang batere atau melalui ADB. Khusus Sensation XE, caranya tetap sama seperti Sensation biasa, pilih “HTC Sensation” di kolom your device.
Beta key yang telah didapat akan dimasukkan ke kolom pada revolutionary. Jalankan revolutionary, maka akan muncul pada gambar dibawah ini ketika proses berlangsung
Setelah proses berhasil, maka muncul seperti dibawah ini:
Kemudian boot ke bootloader akan berubah tulisannya menjadi s-off
Untuk HBoot 1.27 atau telah update ke ICS Official, menggunakan Wiretrick dengan JoupunutBear
Syarat yang diperlukan
- Control Bear (
http://unlimited.io)
- Temp Root untuk Windows (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1072138&d=1337501569 ) untuk yg tanpa unlock bootloader
- MicroSD pastikan sudah dibackup isinya, 8 GB bawaan disarankan atau lebih kecil ukurannya. Sudah pernah dites 2 gb punya bb bisa
- Pastikan USB Debugging di settings-developer option-usb debugging sudah dicentang.
- Sudah pasang HTC Driver (
http://downloads.unrevoked.com/HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe )
- Batere minimal 60%
- Paperclip (penjepit kertas bahan besi), kabel atau kawat konduktor lainnya

Lebih disarankan menggunakan Linux Ubuntu, karena berdasarkan pengalaman kerjain s-off sukses itu dengan LINUX. Sudah pernah gagal beberapa kali dengan windows
Susunan rangkaian kabel paperclip dihubungkan pada titik yang ditunjuk pada gambar:
Extract temproot-sensation-windows.zip ke sembarang folder, kemudian jalankan temp_root.bat saat device dicolokkan ke komputer melalui kabel USB.

Jika menggunakan ubuntu, silahkan diextract saja, taro di folder.
Misal di /home/sonny/HB/
Masuk ke terminal emulator (sudah ada bawaan ubuntu),
cek permissionnya di file fastboot-linux, adb, ControlBear. Pastikan permissionnya
rwxr-xr-x atau permission 755.
Ketik -ls di terminal sama dengan dir di command prompt-nya windows,disini terlihat juga permissionnya untuk suatu file.
Untuk melakukan chmod dan melakukan s-off, disarankan sebagai administrator masuknya. Jika belum masuk superuser maka promptnya adalah dollar ($), kemudian ketik su, lalu passwordnya ketik sendiri sesuai yg telah dibuat maka prompt akan menjadi kres(#).
Lakukan chmod terhadap file, seperti
# chmod 755 ControlBear
# chmod 755 adb
# chmod 755 fastboot-linux
Untuk cek apakah device benar2 konek
# ./adb devices
HTxxxxxx -----> jika muncul serial number, tandanya sudah konek, siap dilakukan s-off
